The mother figure as a desideratum of the feminine has remained a significant discussion in different phases of feminism, as it hinders the progress of egalitarian policies. In Chile, several voices have raised this issue in literary representation. The following article analyzes texts by Diamela Eltit, Pía Barros, Lina Meruane, and Claudia Apablaza, considering the transformation experienced in the country and social discourse over the past thirty years.
