This article refers to the Epistolary of a Chilean nun of the 18th Century, Sister Josefa de losDolores Peña y Lillo. It centers on the consideration of the mystical image of the "Love's
storeroom", which in the text is transformed into the "Love privy". In relation to it, a link
between the Epistolary and the tradition of the Spanish mystical literature is discussed,
while different senses are suggested for the highlighting of the private and intimate which
that transformation confers upon the traditional mystical image.
